fit for a princess…

Yes. I did it.

I have officially watched all recorded coverage of the Royal Wedding that one person’s DVR can hold.

It was amazing. Lets just start with the dress- which was stunning, modern yet traditional from the house of Alexander McQueen. She looked beautiful. I can’t help but feel just so excited for this girl I’ve never met.

Loved the trees in Westminster Abbey, loved watching her father walk her down the isle, loved Pippa looking fabulous and playing dedicated sister.

Loved the hats and fascinators- can we just take on that trend of England for our formal wear? (Except for the few that were  a tad Lady Gaga-esque.)

I loved that William whispered to her that she was beautiful when she reached the altar.

Loved the kisses on the balcony and how she blushed and he grinned…it was precious.

And I loved that the entire time, I remembered my own wedding, and hoped she felt as excited and as in love as we did on that day.  The one day in the world that we get a tiny smidgen of a glimpse in to feeling how a princess feels. (Minus the 1900 person guest list and estimated 2 billion worldwide viewers!)

(Friday I worked, but one of my patients is a Brit, so I could count on her to keep the tv on coverage so I could peep in and see some of the festivities…Smile)

Okay Prince Harry…its your turn next to give us all another reason to drink mimosas, wake up at the crack of dawn, and pretend we are all princesses for the day, living vicariously through your bride!

for that grace...

On a week that should be completely focused on the incredibly extravagant love of my Savior, I will be honest...
I'm failing miserably.

I'm grumbling, I'm tired, and I'm pretty sure most of my sentences start with "I" or "me".
Its awful.

Whats more awful is that I'm aware of how self centered I'm being and really can't seem to get a grip on it.
I work a three day weekend this weekend. Yep, thats right, Good Friday, Saturday, and Easter Sunday alllll at the hospital. And I am trying so very hard to do as I always do when I have to work the holidays. I try to remember, I am fortunate that I get to go home at the end of 12 hours and sleep in my own bed, next to my husband, with my puppy. I am not in the hospital for months on end (yes, months...one of our ladies on the unit has been there for 3 months!).
I should be grateful. I should remember that I don't have to be in a church to celebrate my Risen Lord, I can be in a state of worship on the 9th floor of the hospital. Its all in how I choose to handle it.

So tonight, after 12 long, tiring hours dealing with not so easy peasy patients...I came home and thank goodness for Amber's Blog...

I can't resist but re-share this quote from Anthony @ Beginning to Pray

"This week we pilgrimage with the Word made flesh to the Cross. We walk with crowds who welcomed Him, souls who could not stay awake with Him, souls who betrayed Him, souls who denied him, souls who falsely accused Him, souls who mocked Him, souls who abused Him, souls who ignored Him, souls who condemned Him, souls who were too afraid to stand for Him, souls who ran from Him, souls who wept over Him, and souls who followed Him. This week I remember that I have been, in different ways, all these souls - and it is time to ask the Lord for his grace get up and follow Him on the Way. This week, whoever we are, Christ crucified looks on us with love - his eyes searching for our eyes, his heart thirsting for ours."

So I'm praying for that grace, and that strength to get up and walk side by side with Him.
Happy Happy Easter Week!!

(And thank you thank you Amber for sharing such a great post, I needed that!)

Eastern NC Storm Damage/Prayer Request

Here’s a not so small secret…I love eastern North Carolina. I love everything about it, the land is open and flat, the people are nice, and life there is just more relaxed living near the coast. My sister and her boyfriend live there, along with TONS of our close friends and family as it is where we have roots, and went to college. Please pray for the people of Eastern NC as they have been declared in a state of emergency from the storm damage yesterday. Strong thunderstorms and tornados swept across the state and unfortunately, the eastern part of the state was hit the worst.
These people are hit by hurricanes every year, so it often seems like they are in a constant state of reconstruction- however the damage from these storms is significant and scary. Thankfully, no one we know was hurt and all homes are intact, but thousands of people were not so lucky.  It is estimated that at least 70 tornadoes touched down in NC yesterday.

Please keep the people of Eastern North Carolina in your prayers as they rebuild their homes and communities.
Please pray that they find comfort and peace knowing God is caring for them and will be their Provision during this time.

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen:
not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

Sunday...

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.
For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:20-22

happy birthday husband!

The one who makes me laugh until I pee in my pants,

gives me silly looks all the time

takes care of me when I am a hot mess

fixes just about everything that I end up breaking somehow

who is the hardest worker I've ever known

most passionate person I've ever met

and who loves me, every ounce of me, for who I am...
