Some of you know our current "living" situation, where I commute 45 minutes and John commutes almost 1.5 hours, in opposite directions. Its not ideal, and we'd love to be able to find jobs in the same city so that we aren't driving so far, getting home so late, and can finally call somewhere home. This desire has become even more of an "urgent" thing in our lives considering we are bringing a little one into the world and want to be able to settle down with him.

Yesterday I had an interview closer to where John works. Interviews scare me. They mean I may have to change something in my life, that God may take us a different direction. As much as this is what we want, it doesn't help the fact that it's a little nerve wracking! Change always is.  I love my current job, and the thought of starting a new job shortly after having a baby just seems like way too much change in my life in a short amount of time. Plus, walking in to an interview eight and a half months pregnant is kind of scary just by itself. Who in their right mind is going to hire the preggo?! Never the less, I got the interview, which is the first big step.

Driving there I was a bundle of nerves. I got there early and had a few minutes to just sit in my car and "relax." So I opened up Jesus Calling, and God showed up....I wanted to share what I read yesterday- and how fitting it was for me to read before my interview.

As you become increasingly aware of My Presence, you find it easier to discern the way you should go. This is one of the practical benefits of living close to Me. Instead of wondering about what is on the road ahead or worrying about what you should do if....or can concentrate on staying in communication with Me. When you actually arrive at a choice-point, I will show you which direction to go.
Many people are preoccupied with future plans and decisions that they fail to see choices they need to make today. Without any conscious awareness, they make their habitual responses. Peopl who live this way find a dullness creeping into their lives. They sleepwalk through their days, following wellworn paths of routine.
I, the Creator of the universe, am the most creative Being imaginable. I will not leave you circlin in deeply rutted paths. Instead, I will lead you along fres trails of adventure, revealing to you things you did not know. Stay in communication with Me, Follow My guiding Presence.

After going into the human resources department and waiting on the woman to come meet me for the interview I noticed a picture on the wall behind the receptionist's desk. A picture all to familiar, one that brought back a flood of emotions, I've posted it in a previous post. It is of one of my favorite places in the world, an outdoor chapel appropriately named "Pretty Place" in Greenville, SC. And it is a place that I have truly felt the closeness of God, and stillness in His presence. I'll re-share the picture at the end of this post.

I guess it doesn't really matter if I do or don't get the job, God will have us exactly where we need to be- He will Provide, all we have to do is keep walking with Him. There is such peace in knowing that.
