Dear Landon / Five Months

I really should have posted this on May 18th when Landon turned five months old, but we have been out of town and so I’m just now getting to it. I’m way behind on my posts- so hopefully in the next week or so I can catch up and share what we’ve been up to!

Dear Landon,

I know I say it every month, but I am constantly amazed at how much you are growing and changing and how fast. You surprise me each week and I love to see you learn new things and discover your environment.

In your fifth month,

You weigh 14 lbs 8 oz. You are only tenth percentile for weight! The only reason we know this is because we had to take you to the doctor to be weighed so we could start you back on your reflux medicine. At your four month appointment we decided to stop giving it to you to see how you did, and after a few weeks your reflux started to bother you again. Since the restart, you’ve been one happy little pumpkin!

You eat six ounces of formula every 3-4 hours.

You wear six month onesies, and 0-3 month shorts. Long and skinny…

You love being outside. We spend a lot of time in the evenings on the front porch just watching the world go by.

You love riding in your stroller, it almost puts you in a trance because you are so relaxed when you’re riding.

You giggle…all the time. Which I love.

You are so so SO ticklish. Which you come by naturally as both me and your daddy are very ticklish.

We took trips to Greenville, NC to watch your first ECU baseball game, Southport NC, and Charleston, SC. You luckily travel really well and are pretty content when we’re on the road.

We celebrated our first Mother’s day!! Such an emotional, special day for me. Being your mommy is the best thing in this world.

You LOVE Sophie the Giraffe…she might be the best thing since sliced bread.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING goes in your mouth. We’re pretty sure you’ve been teething for the past two months but have yet to cut a tooth. So in the mean time you drool, and gnaw…a lot.

You started sleeping through the night again (HALLELUJAH!!!!) 8:30-4:30, then you eat and are asleep until 7. We still have to swaddle you, which is something I’m hoping to wean you from soon.

You have rolled from tummy to back twice, but tend to get frustrated easily when you can’t get rolled over all the way.

It is so exciting watching you grow and develop. When you rolled over the first time I was SO proud of you and I remember stopping to think that I can’t imagine how proud I will be when you hit other milestones in your life if I was that proud when you rolled over.

You bring so much joy and fullness to our lives and we love you so very very much!
