Last weekend John and I packed up the car and headed down to the amazing city of Charleston, SC for the wedding of Molly (John’s cousin) and Jeff. Its been years since I’ve been to Charleston, and so this was the perfect opportunity to get a small taste of the southern city and celebrate the happy couple all in one swoop. We left Thursday night after I got off work and let the baby sleep the whole way down there so we could wake up and be ready to explore. I will post pictures of our “touring,” but for now I wanted to share the wedding pictures! Molly and Jeff planned this wedding very quick and Molly asked me and my brother in law if we could handle the photography for her so she wouldn’t have to find someone last minute and pay a fortune. We happily, and nervously accepted the challenge. We are not professionals, we enjoy photography as a hobby, but never in my life would I imagine myself doing this for profit. It was a huge honor, and HUGE challenge for me to shoot a wedding. I definitely learned a lot! Here are a few of my favorite shots from their big night.
I really am proud of how some of them turned out, and learned a whole lot with this process. One big thing I wish I had paid more attention to was the horizon line. For all you wedding photogs out there, I have a new respect for the work you do- capturing these priceless moments is nerve wracking, and there are no do-overs!
Congrats to the new couple, you guys are awesome and we love you so much! Thanks for letting us share in your special day.
