Wife to John and mommy to Landon and the voice behind Everyday Graces. I am a registered nurse and worked four years on an inpatient leukemia unit before recently moving to an outpatient hematology oncology clinic. I like to think that after over a year of being a working mommy, I'm finally settling into my new role. Really? I am taking it day by day, working hard, loving hard, and learning as I go. I have a strong affection for my little family, North Carolina, chocolate chip cookies, photography, and coffee, and the everyday graces of our life.
My college sweetheart, the man who won me over, and the guy I can truly call my best friend. We met ten years ago when I was in tenth grade and went to visit my sister for the weekend at school. John loves offshore fishing, working outside, building houses, ESPN, and all things related to East Carolina University, especially football. Most of all he is the best husband and father that a girl and toddler could ask for and can be found splish spashing around in the bathtub with his son on a nightly basis. I have no idea where I would be if I hadn't met this blue-eyed, strong willed, southern boy.
Who are we kidding, this boy runs the show. The light of our lives, our greatest joy, our little monkey. Landon was welcomed into our world on December 18, 2012 (eight days overdue), at a beautiful 7lbs 5oz. Our world has been turned upside down in the most incredible way by this silly, fun loving, and curious little boy. His current favorites include chasing Josie around the house, couch diving, and playing with anything that has wheels. He amazes us each and everyday and we are so blessed to call him ours.
If I am being honest, Josie was our first child. We adopted her into our family shortly after our wedding and it was instant love. Except for the time she ate chocolate m & m's and had to be forced to drink hydrogen peroxide until she puked. Oh, and when she chews my Burts Bees chapstick...atleast she has fresh breath. She's a beagle, in every since of the word. Playful, high energy, and incredibly loyal and loveable, but lets be honest, her nose controls her brain. Where it leads, she will follow....never the less, we love this four-legged fur baby of ours and she has been there with us through some tough times. She loves walks, car rides, boat rides, and having her belly rubbed.
